Lots of people racing on Sunday but why the picture of Beth wearing a wig? Tell you that later……..

Derek and Mandy got up early to have a go at the Osprey Sprint – brilliant performances from both of them in the cold. Derek finished 14th overall and 2nd in his age category whilst Mandy came in 4th lady and won her age category. Derek is lining up a world championship qualification race in a couple of weeks so looks like he is in tip top form for that.Cheryl and Simon raced in the sprint event in Wimborne and both posted great times despite Cheryl having some gearing issues. Simon finished in 1hr11mins in his first ever event and loved it!

Presumably because a bit of swimming and biking is a bit much for them, Neil and Dave took on the North Dorset Village Marathon yesterday. On a hilly course, Neil came in in 3hr10min – an incredible time! Dave also ran really well posting 3hr21min.

Obviously even that wasn’t man enough for Carl who took part in a world record attempt for the longest continuous relay race basically involving volunteering to run a marathon leg of a very long run carrying a batten. Carl turned up intending to split the 27 mile leg with Baz, but changed his mind at the last minute when he found out the girl he was running with was up for the full distance. Snatching the batten from the aforementioned girl, he completed the 27 miles in 4hr20min. Last time we heard he had yet to regain the use of his legs……..

And finally to the wig……. Beth, Emma, Molly and Mandy are all running the race for life at Kingston Maurward on the 20th May so please sponsor them when you see them. Especially as they will be tired after racing the Junior Triathlon at Castle Court the day before – if you haven’t entered yet, get those entries in.
