Yep that’s right, just as you thought Dave Pratten stormed the Beaver Triathlon in a shade under 5 hours finishing second in his age category. Tuning up nicely for the European Long course championships in Vichy in September  where the GBR team will contain 3 TriPurbeck athletes after Liz Hall gained selection alongside Dave and Fran.

Talking of which, Fran raced in the World long Distance Championships in Belfort last Sunday. Nice week in the Sun in France I thought, but oh no, 12 degrees and rain and they cancelled the swim even though the water temp was 13.8 (I refer you to an earlier post about the Swanage Tri). Not the Franster’s best race but she still managed an 11th place finish, and it was the World Championships…….

Sam Brown reinforced everyone’s belief that he can run fast by winning the Dorset Boys 800m on Saturday – that’s what happens if you turn up to the Upton evening series, run and win the junior race then decide that that wasn’t sufficient and enter the adult race too – and then beat all the other TriPurbeck athletes there. Note to self, never run in the same race as Sam.

Lots more pbs at the Upton race with Callum, Lola, Jack,  Annie, Max, Fin, Emma and Agnes all running the junior race with Lola, Emma, Fin and Agnes all winning their age category. Carl, Derek, Sharon, Clare, David, Pili and John all ran in the adult race also producing plenty of pbs and Derek taking an age category win.
