Sam Brown smashed his 5k pb with a phenomenal 16min43sec run at the Poole Park run and then followed it up with a 2.43 pb for 200m in the pool at the junior squad on Sunday after a hard turbo and run set……..

Sam was one of several TriPurbeck athletes running well at the park run: Dave Brown ran an excellent 19.12, Jed Skilton set a pb at 19.21, Lola Brown set a 21.31 pb, Callum McD ran 21.35, John Skilton ran a 21.40 pb, Liz Goldsack eased around in 23min ahead of the marathon next week, Clare McD ran 27mins and the entire Fraser family joined in with Peter recording 23mins followed by all 3 girls.

Lola had also won her category on the Manor Mile on Tuesday closely followed in 2nd by Lily Burnet – the TriPurbeck duo forming the spine of the winning team from Parkstone Grammar in the 12-13 years race. Annie Bungay was also part of the Lychett team which won the 11-12 event finishing an excellent 10th overall.

Final word this week to Chris Kelly who raced in DBMax standard Duathlon yesterday only 4 weeks after a legendary Ironman debut in New Zealand. Somewhat different conditions. Chris posted an excellent 2hr24min finish but couldn’t be bothered to get up for swimming this morning so lost all his brownie points.

First of the Tuesday night timetrials on offer tomorrow night……. Derek won’t reveal his race strategy so I’ll publicly declare mine: Meet at pub, ride, finish at pub, stay at pub.
