Justin Matthews and Chris Weeks went up to London (that’s apparently just north of  Wareham) to run the London Marathon at the weekend. Justin clocked an amazing time of 3hr and 57sec. We also got a glimpse of him running into the finish although I’m slightly concerned about his sanity after saying just a few hours later that he was definitely up for another go next year to try and break the 3hr mark. Chris ran with him for most of the race and also clocked a great time of 3hr6mins, especially impressive given that he has been suffering with a hip injury.

Fran, Roddy, Kerry and I had to pass on the marathon (!!?!) mainly because we were running a tri taster day at Purbeck (see photo) but in my case also because the marathon is about 26 miles too far (I can handle the 385yards I think).

Lots of racing coming up including the New Forest Tri this weekend if they can break the ice on the lake and Alison is running a charity 5k race (Signets 5k) from Swanage 1st School (Mount Scar) through Dulston Country Park with a cake at the end (email alisonmilmer@yahoo.co.uk – also suitable for kids if accompanied by an adult).
