Plenty to catch up on despite the rubbish weather – more on that later. Cosmo Craven, Jed Skilton and George Robson all qualified for the Schools Biathlon Final in Crystal Palace and all came home with prizes. Jed and Cosmo (pictured with prize) both finished 6th in their age groups winning individual awards and posting big pbs in the swim and run and George was part of the 3rd place year 7 team alongside Jed despite no having his best day. Meanwhile, Sam Brown was running in the national schools cross country finishing 70th out of 350 and he was the first Dorset athlete home.

Derek and Sharon were on the qualification trail again at the Clumber Park Duathlon only to find on arrival that the event was postponed. Here is a picture of them trying to find out what the issue was – looks ok to me?

There also been lots of running at the Bournemouth Bay 10k and half marathon this weekend. Great run from Emma in her first 10k clocking 61 minutes. In the half, Peter Fraser tuned up nicely shaving a few seconds of his time from last year despite the windy conditions, Neil McDermott came in 26th overall in 1hr24min (great running), Mark Turner ducked under 2hrs on the chip timing continuing his Wimbleball prep and Cheryl Weeks ran an impressive 2hr15min. I still think John Skilton has the right idea though…… he’s on holiday in Borneo!
