Not in any particular order but TriPurbeck athletes have been out in force again today. Carl, for some reason, entered the Grizzly. Now if you don’t know what this is and you of a weak disposition then you should look away now. Fundamentally (mentally being the important bit of the word) it’s an off road 20 mile ish run along the Devon coastline, mostly involving going uphill but with rivers and bogs thrown in. Taking 3hr22min to complete it seems like an excellent time and unless you are completely barking mad I wouldn’t suggest trying to beat it!

In the Bath Half Marathon, Justin just missed his 1hr20min target but great running all the same to post a finish of 1hr22min and sets him up well to go under 3hrs in London. Mandy was the fastest Simmonds in the race (I know this because that’s how I found the times in amongst the 1000s of finishers)  finishing alongside Mark in 2hr5min. Liz Gilmore was also racing in the Gorrick mountain bike national series race and won her category – might be the one to look for in the ladies race at Sika in a couple of weeks.

Juniors up next week at the Southwest biathlon…..
