There was far too much lycra on show on Christmas Eve for the inaugral Christmas eve club ride – great effort to see 22 people out – I guess they had heard about the new cafe that appears to have opened in Postgate Road, Winfrith. The mince pies were particularly good - presumably thats why everyone was wearing spandex – I don’t like to ask. As if that wasn’t enough, Richie donned one of his many mankinis and took to the water along with about 12 other lunatics in Swanage on Christmas Day. Dave Pratten didn’t bother with a wetsuit and subsequently swam like an outboard motor, arriving at the stone key first. As a result, most of the brandy was gone by the time the other swimmers got there (these headteachers). Both of Richie’s bells fell off – at least I think that’s what he said. Swim of the day, though, was definitely Alex M who was 3rd across the bay. There was a really nice atmosphere – one to grow for next year we think – well done for organising it Richie!

More fun still to be had – there will be a ride on New Years Eve – 11am from the sports centre – and we’ll probably stop in that cafe again………
