Here I am settling down to nice glass if ribena feeling oh so pleased with myself about going swimming this afternoon only to be confronted by a whole load of crazy racing people’s results to write about. Oh yes….. the Juniors were once again up to their tricks – this time 4 of TriPurbeck’s finest racing for Dorset in the Southwest schools and Gary ‘race a week’ Sawtell was off getting muddy in the Rempstone Roast Duathlon.

First up though was Claude Kaplan PBing (yes that’s a verb) in the Poole Park 5k following his excellent performance in the Dorney Lake duathlon a couple of weeks ago.

Then the juniors were up in the Southwest schools cross country champs in Wiltshire. Serena O’Connor just lost out on the win in the last 500m finishing 2nd in the under 17s event (see age related comments in earlier posts) – another great result, Jed Skilton also took second in his category – amazing, Sam Brown finished in an excellent 6th place despite still not being 100% and Lola finished in 38th – we think one of the top Dorset runners. So overall phenomenal results from the junior squad who go from strength to strength and the multi-sport season hasn’t even started yet. We’re hoping to take a strong contingent to the Bath Duathlon in March!

Finally, Gary Sawtell knocked 2 mins off his best at the Rempstone roast duathlon despite having treasure still buried in his leg (see picture below). So I think we all need a rest.
