You’d think it was the time of year to take advantage of the weather by staying indoors and eating pie. But that’s not for the junior athletes in the club – they’re all off running up muddy hills very fast in spikes…………..

Jed Skilton added the Dorset Schools cross country championship to his ever increasing trophy cabinet last week with a dominant performance in the junior boys race. Than at the weekend, the club’s other Dorset Schools Champ was at the South of England Championships racing in the under 17s. Serena executed her normal race – picking off more of the opposition as the race went on to finish an outstanding 8th out of a field of 146. Her time for the 5k course was a stunning 18.15 (be afraid). Oh, and then you need to throw in to the mix that Serena is only 15………….. amazing. In other news Guy went to the shop and bought a pie.

Unbeknown to me (‘cos nobody told me), Rose also competed in the Dirty Devil, coming a very good 6th place in the team competition. I’m not sure why she was in the team competition, unless there were more than one Rose Clarke. I’ll ask her.
